Pre-order your copy today!!!

Laura, thank you for stopping by to talk about your story in our charity anthology. For those who don’t know, all proceeds of Eat Your Heart Out will go to The Hunger Project!

Here’s the blurb:

Tomatoes are missing, and there’s only one person who can get to the bottom of it.

If there’s one thing that Jenna Sunangel takes seriously, it’s her job. When she’s assigned to the greenhouse where dryads are being stolen from, she uncovers more than just the missing produce.

Baxter Heirloom has never thought much about his mate, but when fate brings a beautiful hummingbird shifter to his workplace, he can’t believe his luck, and will do everything he can to convince her that they’re meant to be together. Even give her his tomatoes…

Her Tomato Mate is part of the Paranormal Council series and is Jenna & Baxter’s complete story.

And now to the interview:

1. How did your individual cover inspire your story?
Mine is actually the cover that started it all! We were stock hunting for something completely different at the time (I can’t remember what) and like we normally do, we send one another the funny stock we find. Before I knew it, Skye was posting a cover in our Facebook groups and trying to encourage my readers to persuade me to write it (somehow, that then involved roping in a load of other people too!) As far as my story is concerned, I’ve always enjoyed an unusual paranormal type, and with dryads part of my universe as a whole, I thought that would be the perfect way to use the tomatoes.

2. What would the ‘heat level’ be in your story?  Should it come with a warning label?
I wouldn’t say it needed a warning label, it’s about on par with some of my other paranormal romance (but with less heat than some of my co-writes, and more heat than my sweet vampire romance series). Body parts aren’t named, but there’s no doubt they’re doing the deed – most of the focus is on how the characters feel and what it means to them, as well as on the importance of communicating consent between them.

3. Can you tell us a little about the characters in your story?  Are they meeting for the first time or is this related to a series?
Both are true! Jenna and Baxter have never met before the start of the book, but his childhood friend is the heroine in book one of The Paranormal Council (the series it is part of) and she works for the High Council. He’s a tomato dryad, she’s a hummingbird shifter, and they discover they’re fated mates.

4. What was your favorite part about writing this story?
It’s been a while since I wrote a paranormal romance in this universe, and it was a lot of fun to do it again!

5. Is this your first time participating in an anthology?  What are some of the best things about being in an anthology?
Definitely not my first time! I’ve no idea how many I’ve been part of. I love the opportunity to work with new authors and reach new readers. When it’s a charity anthology like this one, there’s also the bonus of being able to raise some money!

6. What genres do you write in?  If more than one, do you have a favorite?
I mostly write paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and fantasy romance (though I do have one contemporary series too). I don’t think I can sit still long enough to only focus on one at once! I don’t have a favourite – it often depends on how I’m feeling as to which I want to write on and that can change from day to day!

7. Where can we find out more about you and your books?
Everything you need to know, and probably a lot of things you don’t, is on my website – you can find information about each of my series, timelines for my worlds, free books, bonus scenes, and fun quizzes:

If you prefer to keep up to date on social media, then you can join my Facebook Reader Group where I share teasers, updates, and play regular games:

Or, if you like to get information straight to your email, you can sign up to my mailing list – I even send out a chapter of a newsletter serial every week until the book is complete, meaning you get a free book just by staying subscribed:

Thank you so much for joining me today, Laura! Here are a couple of fun graphics about our author and her story. And remember, you can pre-order the anthology today!!!
